Tiny pure silver ammonite pendant

Tiny pure silver ammonite pendant

This beautiful pendant is crafted from a tiny ammonite I found on the stunning fossil beach in Charmouth, here in Dorset.

I made a mould directly from the fossil and utilised the magical properties of Silverclay to make a perfect replica, in pure, 99.9% silver! (read more below!)

Using a genuine fossil to craft this pendant makes it a meaningful piece of natural history jewellery.  Another example of a beautiful spiral, nature’s sacred pattern.

The pendant is approximately 10 x 10 mm and 1-2mm thick.

Comes complete with a high quality 18″ sterling silver belcher chain.

All of my packaging is UK sourced, biodegradable and plastic free. Every item of jewellery will be carefully wrapped in a Dorset Hill Jewellery hand stamped box, finished with tissue paper, string and of course a hand drawn name tag.

Free UK postage.

What is Silverclay?

Silverclay, aka Precious metal clay or Art clay silver is an inspirational product consisting of very fine pure silver particles, water and a non toxic organic plant based binder. It feels and behaves like actual clay but once dried and fired (once the water has dried and the binder has burned away) the silver particles fuse and it becomes pure silver.

The properties of silverclay lend themselves to moulding and sculpting in an almost endless variety of ways! My favourite is for moulding from natural forms – fossils, shells, twigs, leaves and other found objects..  I’ve even made a tiny Yoda!

Silverclay is a very eco-friendly material. It is made with 100% recycled silver, salvaged from old x-ray plates, photographic film and electrical components. All dried bits and dust can be reconstituted and used again so endlessly recycled. It’s quite energy efficient, compared to other metalsmithing processes, as it fires at a low temperature (650-7– degrees C).
